Our sweater workshop here at Wildflower is an ongoing class on Saturdays from 1pm to 2:30pm. We meet every Saturday (unless it’s a holiday) to get together and work on sweater projects. You’ll find support, instruction, and guidance as well as laughter and friendship in this group. All levels are welcome, although you should know how to cast on and work the knit stitch before joining the group.
Sign up for 8 weeks at a time. You don’t have to come every week for 8 weeks; you can come when you can. This might only be once every couple months or once a week. It’s a very flexible framework. It’s also not a structured class. It’s strictly tailored to what you want to learn, when you want to learn it.
Some people join because they want to learn how to choose and make their first sweater. Some join because they’ve made three sweaters already, but are stuck on the finishing. And, honestly, some just come for the fun!
It’s easy to join. You can register for the sweater workshop in advance or you can just show up the first time.
But don’t take my word for it; here’s what Renee Martin has to say:
Sweater workshop is the time and place to get a sweater done. From your very first one to designing your own. Those that are a part of it help each other from beginning to end and rejoice with you when you are finished. Kennita is available to help anyone with questions. She helped me in every step of the sweater below. I was designing it based loosely on a shirt I had. She was able to explain how to get the measurements I needed and help me figure out the schematics and fitting. Sweater workshop is a place to grow and learn in your knitting, all while supported by Kennita and fellow knitters.
