I’ve recently re-discovered an old love in my life, tapestry weaving. On so doing, I’ve been combing the internet for books on tapestry weaving and any kind of snippet of a reference I can find.
Two of the books I purchased (after first checking them out at my local library!) that I highly recommend for the amount of technical information are:
Both books have exercises you can do to try out each technique. I didn’t do them, but I can see where they would be helpful to anyone just beginning. I also purchased Tapestry Weaving: Design and Technique.
Since I hadn’t woven in decades, the information in all these books was very helpful.
Another resource I discovered was the American Tapestry Alliance. I haven’t joined yet, but I plan to. And a couple of tapestry weavers with lots of great info and inspiration on their websites that I enjoyed are Rebecca Mezoff and Tommye Scanlon.
